Black Jack School Of Conflict
Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces Basic Training Facility.
The BJSC is the way house Steiner sets a minimum standard for its warriors. Every warrior in the house must pass the BJSC exam before they can join a regiment and receive the rank of Private First Class "Pfc".
In addition returning officers who've had a period of retirement or leave of absence of at least one month must retake the BJSC exam before returning to active duty.
Once recruited a new mechwarrior of the LCAF starts with the rank of Private or Pvt. His/her uniform must have their rank, name and the BJSC tag to say that they are in training.
Example.
PVT. Maniac/LCAF-BJSC
The BJSC tag takes the place of a lance ID as the mech warrior is not qualified for active duty and will not be assigned to a lance at this time.
The e-mail address, c-star ID and handle of all new BJSC cadets should be sent the director of the school
The Regiments themselves are responsible for the training and preparations of the cadets to take the test.
Only Officers who have been certified may administer the test. They will be appointed by the schools director and may supervise all BJSC testing.
Currently the combat test has 3 sections.
Part One. Aiming under fire.
The cadet takes a Black Jack medium 'Mech (any 'Mech between 40-60tons). The examiner also takes a BJ'M. They must both equip their 'Mechs with 2 AC2. This can either be anyone of the AC2 variants, Ultra, LBX or standard it is their choice. They drop and close to maximum AC2 range (around 700m) and stop (no moving once you are in range). The cadet must shoot both arms off of the examiner, without killing his 'Mech, running out of ammo or running out of time (Time MUST! Be SET for 30mins). The examiner will return chain fire using a slow rocking stream of AC2. The examiner will spread the damage over the cadets body so as not to cause any serious damage. The cadet can take the arms off at the torso if they wish, but note that you run the risk of killing the examiners 'Mech with an engine critical (failing aswell) if you do so.
Part Two. Location targeting on a moving target.
Once again the cadet takes a BJ'M. The examiner takes an ORION 'Mech (STOCK). They drop and close. Both can move freely and there is no range restriction. The cadet must shoot off both 'Mechs arms using only the AC2s (no lasers). The examiner will use evasive maneuvers to make himself a hard target (jump, speed and direction changes, terrain etc) but will not return fire. If the cadet kills the examiner's 'Mech, runs out of ammo or time he fails.
Part Three. Targeting a fast moving, small target.
One again the cadet pilots a BJ'M. The examiner takes a FIREFLY 'Mech (STOCK). The cadet must kill the examiners 'Mech using only AC2s. Both will move freely and the examiner will remain within long range and use his best evasive maneuvers to make the cadet miss. The examiner must also try to "maim" (take the arms off and slow the cadets 'Mech by shooting its leg but not too take them off!) the cadets 'Mech using his STOCK FIREFLY. The cadet must avoid the examiners fire while destoying his 'Mech.
If any test is failed the cadet must retake the test until he/she passes.
